60's Band called The Cufflinks playing at The Star, Mansfield Woodhouse on 30th May from 7pm.

April 2010.

Senior Bitter has replaced Old Tom at The White Hart, Mansfield.

70's to 90's Disco at The Railway, Mansfield on Saturday 24th April.

New bitter launched by Oakwell Brewery try it at The White Hart, Mansfield - Senior.

Great Shave Off raised £560.91 for the John Eastwood Hospice well done all involved.

FemAle Day at The Talbot Taphouse with a Free Real Ale for all Females.

February 2010.

The Star, Mansfield Woodhouse has re-opened selling a range of Real Ales and Food.

The White Lion, South Normanton no longer sells Real Ale currently.

Real Cider has not been available at The Clock Inn, South Normanton recently.

January 2010.

We have been advised that The White Lion, Blidworth now sells Real Ale.

The Badger Box will be closing and re-opening as a Hungry Horse.

December 2009.

The White Lion, South Normanton is now selling Real Ale.

The Boundary, South Normanton is now offering 5 Real Ales from the Marstons Group Range.

The Villager, South Normanton is now selling 2 Real Ales.

The Devonshire Arms, South Normanton has Titanic Wreckage coming soon.

November 2009.

The Devonshire Arms, South Normanton has re-decorated it's Restaurant.

The Clock, South Normanton has been re-painted on the front to brighten it up with new signage.

Masons Arms,Sutton in Ashfield has a Bonfire & BBQ on Saturday 7th November

Corner Pin,Westwood has a bonfire party on Saturday 7th November.

New Real Ale outlet in Sutton-In-Ashfield - The Speed the Plough now sells Real Ale give it a try.

October 2009.

The Clock, South Normanton has a Halloween Party on Saturday 31st October

Nell Gwyn, Mansfield has a BBQ, fancy dress, free food, karaoke prizes etc from 8pm on Saturday 31st October for Halloween.
 
Masons Arms, Sutton in Ashfield has a Halloween rock disco & BBQ on Saturday 31st October
 
The Redgate, Mansfield has a bonfire party on (would you believe) - Bonfire Night 5th November
 
Nags Head,Pleasley has a bonfire on Friday 6th November

The Villager, South Normanton is now selling Real Ale give it a try.  On a recent visit they had Greene King IPA, and hope to build it up to 2 Real Ales in the future depending upon demand.

August 2009

10th Birthday Party weekend at The Clock Inn, South Normanton between 20th & 23rd August.  Beer Festival with 10 Beers on over the weekend.

Music Night at The Railway, Mansfield will be on 27th August.

Free BBQ & Karaoke between 7pm and 9pm on 29th August at Nell Gwynn, Mansfield.

The Hawthorns, South Normanton now has 3 Real ales available.

The Railway, Mansfield has a music night on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Music covered is Jazz, Blues & Folk.

Yates in Mansfield had special offer on Real Ale recently.

March 2009

The Hawthorns, South Normanton appears to no longer sell Real Ale, on several recent visits by members of the branch No Real Ale has been available.

The Corner Pin, Westwood takes part in a Poker National Tournament played on Sunday aftenoons.

February 2009

The Sir John Cockle, Mansfield now sells Real Ale. 3 choices available.

The Watermill, Sutton-In-Ashfield has 3 Real Ales available.

No Real Ale available at The Hawthorns, South Normanton on recent visits.

January 2009

We are advised that The King of Diamonds, Langwith Junction doesn't sell Real Ale.

The White Hart, Mansfield has reopened following it's refit give it a try !

The Black Swan, Edwinstowe has recently been taken over and now has 2 Real Ales available.

The White Hart, Mansfield is currently closed for a refit.  As soon as we here that this will be re-opening we will let you know.

The Watermill at Coxmoor Road, Sutton-In-Ashfield is the latest Real Ale Pub to open in our branch area.  This is alongside the A38 near to Kings Mill, and trades under the Toby Cavery brand.

The Bold Forester, Mansfield re-opened on Monday 24th November under the Hungry Horse brand.

Countryman (Kirkby-in-Ashfield) currently closed for major refurbishment.

Horse & Jockey (Selston) had a range of 6 National Brands on a recent visit, unsure if Micro Brewery Beers are still available or if these were just not available when this report was given.

The Clock (South Normanton) has a new outside drinking area with new lawned area.

3rd Thursday of the month is an 'Open Mic' session at The Railway, Mansfield with Folk, Jazz & Blues music recently.

The Carpenters Arms on Newgate Lane, Mansfield is now boarded up and up for lease.

Little John, Ravenshead is closed currently.

The White Hart in Mansfield is selling Bransley Bitter & Barnsley Old Tom both in very good condition.

The Hawthorns, South Normanton had no Real Ale available on the last couple of visits.  Please let us know if this changes.

2 NEW Real Ale gains !!

The Market Tavern, Sutton-In-Ashfield has  reopened with Old Speckled Hen available on handpump.  If you are in Sutton give it a visit and support a pub adding Real Ale.

The Devonshire Arms, South Normanton is selling Thornbridge Jaipur with Thornbridge Kipling coming soon.

The Horse & Jockey, Selston have Thornbridge Jaipur, Blackthorn and a new beer on soon.

Mapplewells, Sutton-In-Ashfield now rebranded Marstons Pub Company.

Top House, Sutton Road now called William IV with no Real Ale.

The Reindeer, Edingley had Hopback Crop Circle, Jennings Tom Fool, Jennings Bitter and Jennings Cumberland Ale on a recent visit.

The Clock Inn, South Normanton had Adnams Bitter, Jennings Cumberland Ale, Batemans XXXB and Abbeydale Absolution available on a recent visit.

The Devonshire Arms, South Normanton serves Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby as one of their house beers.  They usually have 3 other Real Ales available, along with 1 or 2 Real Ciders as well. Credit Cards & Debit Cards are now also accepted.

The Royal Oak, South Normanton is still closed currently.  As soon as we know more we will let you know.

The Greyhound, Pinxton has a sign outside saying Pub to Let.

The Badger Box, Annersley Woodhouse (also on Nottingham Mild Trail) had the full GK range on a recent visit. GK Abbot, GK Olde Speckled Hen & GK H&H Mild. Very good value food was available with a good choice on a 2 for £9 offer.

Well & Castle, South Normanton doesn't appear to be any nearer completion, as soon as we know more we will let you know.

The Duke of Wellington,Church St, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, had Jennings Golden Host 4.3 and Jennings Cock a Hoop 4.6 on a recent visit.

Out of Area Pub News

Amber Ales of Ripley has just opened their 2nd pub the Sir Barnes Wallis (formally The Woodman) in Ripley.

The Talbot on Butterley Road, Ripley. This offers a 20p CAMRA discount on Real Ales and Real Ciders.

The Waggon & Horses, Alfreton recently had an exclusive beer from Amber Ales available.  More coming soon.

The Chesterfield Arms, Newbold Road, Chesterfield re-opens on Monday 16th February 2009. 8 Real Ales and 4 Ciders will be available.

Kim and Jackie Beresford from the Old Poets Corner at Ashover have acquired the New Clock at Codnor.  This has been closed since December, and will offer up to 8 Cask Ales from Ashover Brewery and a range of Guest Ales.  Also a range of Real Ciders and Perries, Fruit Wines will be available.  Live Entertainment will also feature.  This is currently being refitted and should be            re-opening in May.

The Wagon & Horses in Alfreton will be hosting an Meet the Brewer evening on Wednesday 20th August with Thornbridge Brewery.

The Old Poets' Corner in Ashover, Derbyshire, S45 0EW, is open from 12 noon - 11pm Mon - Sat, 12 noon - 10.30pm on Sundays and now serves food from 12 noon - 2.00pm and 6.30pm - 9.00pm Mon - Sat. A Carvery from 12 noon - 3.00pm and a BBQ (weather permitting) from 4pm - 9pm are available on Sundays.

The Old Poets' Corner has added another handpump to the bar (9 Real Ales now) and they also host free live music on Tuesdays and Sundays from 8.30pm ish.

The Old Poets' Corner is the East Midlands Cider Pub of the Year 2007.

Railway Tavern, Langley Mill now is a Alcazar Brewery pub with 3 Alcazar beers available.

Spire Brewery of Chesterfield have just opened their own Brewery Tap - The Britannia Inn, New Tupton.  On a recent visit they had a range of Spire Brewery Beers and also Guest Beers.  They have big plans for the future so why not give them a visit.
