(Kirkby-in-Ashfield) currently closed
for major refurbishment.
Horse
& Jockey (Selston) had a range of 6
National Brands on a recent visit,
unsure if Micro Brewery Beers are still
available or if these were just not
available when this report was given.
The
Wagon & Horses in Alfreton will be
hosting an Meet the Brewer evening on
Wednesday 20th August with Thornbridge
Brewery.
The
Clock (South Normanton) has a new
outside drinking area with new lawned
area.
3rd
Thursday of the month is an 'Open Mic'
session at The Railway, Mansfield with
Folk, Jazz & Blues music recently.
The
Carpenters Arms on Newgate Lane,
Mansfield is now boarded up and up for
lease.
Little
John, Ravenshead is closed currently.
The
White Hart in Mansfield is selling
Bransley Bitter & Barnsley Old Tom
both in very good condition.
The
Hawthorns, South Normanton had no Real
Ale available on the last couple of
visits. Please let us know if this
changes.

NEW Real Ale gains !!
The
Market Tavern, Sutton-In-Ashfield has
reopened with Old Speckled Hen available
on handpump. If you are in Sutton
give it a visit and support a pub adding
Real Ale.
Kim
and Jackie Beresford from the Old Poets
Corner at Ashover have acquired the New
Clock at Codnor. This has been
closed since December, and will offer up
to 8 Cask Ales from Ashover Brewery and
a range of Guest Ales. Also a
range of Real Ciders and Perries, Fruit
Wines will be available. Live
Entertainment will also feature.
This is currently being refitted and
should be
re-opening in May.
The Old Poets' Corner
in Ashover, Derbyshire, S45 0EW, is
open from 12 noon - 11pm Mon - Sat, 12
noon - 10.30pm on Sundays and now
serves food from 12 noon - 2.00pm and
6.30pm - 9.00pm Mon - Sat. A
Carvery from 12 noon - 3.00pm and a
BBQ (weather permitting) from 4pm -
9pm are available on Sundays.
The Old Poets' Corner
has added another handpump to the bar
(9 Real Ales now) and they also
host free live music on Tuesdays and
Sundays from 8.30pm ish.
The Old Poets' Corner
is the East Midlands
Cider Pub of the Year 2007.
The
Devonshire Arms, South Normanton is
selling Thornbridge Jaipur with
Thornbridge Kipling coming soon.
The
Horse & Jockey, Selston have
Thornbridge Jaipur, Blackthorn and a new
beer on soon.
Railway
Tavern, Langley Mill now is a Alcazar
Brewery pub with 3 Alcazar beers
available.
Spire
Brewery of Chesterfield have just opened
their own Brewery Tap - The
Britannia Inn, New Tupton.
On a recent visit they had a range of
Spire Brewery Beers and also Guest
Beers. They have big plans for the
future so why not give them a visit.
Mapplewells,
Sutton-In-Ashfield now rebranded
Marstons Pub Company.
Top
House, Sutton Road now called William IV
with no Real Ale.
The
Reindeer, Edingley had Hopback Crop
Circle, Jennings Tom Fool, Jennings
Bitter and Jennings Cumberland Ale on a
recent visit.
The
Clock Inn, South Normanton had Adnams
Bitter, Jennings Cumberland Ale,
Batemans XXXB and Abbeydale Absolution
available on a recent visit.
The
Devonshire Arms, South Normanton serves Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby as one of
their house beers. They usually
have 3 other Real Ales available, along
with 1 or 2 Real Ciders as well. Credit Cards & Debit
Cards are now also accepted.
The
Royal Oak, South Normanton is still
closed currently. As soon as we
know more we will let you know.
The
Greyhound, Pinxton has a sign outside
saying Pub to Let.
The
Badger Box, Annersley Woodhouse (also on
Nottingham Mild Trail) had the full GK
range on a recent visit. GK Abbot, GK
Olde Speckled Hen & GK H&H Mild.
Very good
value food was available with a good
choice on a 2 for £9 offer.
Well & Castle, South Normanton
doesn't appear to be any nearer
completion, as soon as we know more we
will let you know.
The Duke
of Wellington,Church St, Kirkby-in-Ashfield,
had Jennings Golden Host 4.3 and
Jennings Cock a Hoop 4.6 on a recent
visit.
